Winter Wonders Drive-Through Holiday Light Display

 

Winter Wonders, the first drive-through holiday light show to integrate multiple display techniques from around the world, will twinkle, glow, and add washes of color to the trees of the Arboretum of Boerner Botanical Gardens and the surrounding area from 5‒10 p.m., Nov. 29‒Jan. 1, excluding Dec. 24 and Dec. 31.

The 1.4-mile route featuring more than 80 displays begins at the Whitnall Park Golf Course, 6751 S. 92nd St., Franklin, WI. Here, visitors will receive a holiday gift bag for the carload and be advised where to tune their radios for continuous holiday music. On Wimmer Wednesdays, everyone in the car will receive a pair of “starlight glasses” for a sparkling view of the lights.

Presented by Tri City National Bank and produced by Festival Pro LLC—the same organization that produces the popular China Lights—Winter Wonders is not a Chinese lantern festival, but a holiday light show with 2-D, 3-D, and animated displays to be experienced from the comfort of a car or tour bus. Display themes range from snowflakes and snowmen to palms of the Middle East and Moravian Stars from Europe. Santas of the world also appear.
