Where Do the Presidential Candidates Stand on “Ending the Scourge of War?” & The Annual Business Meeting of the UNA-GM
“We the peoples of the United Nations are determined to save succeeding generations from
‘the scourge of war,’ which twice in our lifetime has brought untold sorrow to mankind…”
(First Principle in the Preamble to the Charter of the United Nations)
Free & Open to the Public
Saturday – February 8th, 2020 from 10 AM – 12 Noon
Redeemer Lutheran Church – 631 N. 19th St. (Rear Entrance) – Milwaukee, WI
The United Nations came into being in 1945, following the devastation of the Second World War, with one central mission: the maintenance of international peace and security. The UN does this by working to prevent conflict; helping parties in conflict make peace; peacekeeping; and creating the conditions to allow peace to hold and flourish.
You are invited to hear an informative review of the policies, actions, and positions of the leading Democratic presidential candidates and President Trump on ending war and maintaining peace. The information to be presented is taken from Peace Action, a national peace group, and their website www.peaceaction.org/positions/
Following the presentation, audience members will be invited to share their ideas on the policies they believe will end the scourge of war and maintain peace.
The agenda for the Annual Business Meeting of the UNA-GM includes:
Re-election of current UNA-GM Board Members
Consideration of three new nominees to the UNA-GM Board
Floor nominations for UNA-GM Board Membership from UNA-GM members
Presentation of the UNA-GM Financial Report
Review of the 2019 UNA-GM activities
