Suffrage Topic on Milwaukee's Mathilda Anneke by Alison Efford

 

Publisher of America’s First Suffrage Paper in the 19th Century Lecture at the Chudnow Museum of Yesteryear.

This German-American Suffragist published the first female written suffrage newspaper in the United States. In Milwaukee from March 1852 to August 1852 she produced “Duetsche Frauen Zeitung”. Alison Efford has been translating her documents and letters and this will be the first public presentation ever on this research. Prof. Efford teaches at Marquette University.
