Jazz, Jitterbug & Bathtub Gin!
Gala festivities include performances by Accompany of Kids, a live auction including original art and other fabulous items, an opportunity to win a bathtub full of gin and other fine spirits, and elegant 1920s-style supper.
Guests can Jitterbug, Charleston, Tango, Shimmy and Waltz the night away to the top tunes of the era. Don’t know how? Learn the Jitterbug and Charleston with Dancing Bill Krumenauer of DanceSport Studios on Thursday, February 7 from 7-9pm at the Center. DanceSport will also be offering a one-hour lesson on Wednesday, February 6 from 7-8pm at their Cedarburg studio. There is no charge and lessons are available to anyone, whether attending the gala or not. The more the merrier!
The Gala is hosted by Chairs Ryan & Megan Olsen and Ben & Janice Levy.
Enjoy cocktails at 6pm followed by dinner at 7pm. Four $20s and a secret password will getcha in the door ($80 per person). RSVP by January 28 by phone, in person or online. “Glad Rags” attire (period dress) is optional, and prizes will be awarded for Best Dressed “Doll” and “Swell.”
The Roaring ‘20s Speakeasy Gala is sponsored by Port Washington State Bank and these table sponsors: Answerport, Bella Lei Salon Spa and Boutique, Columbia St. Mary’s, Froedtert Health, Levy & Levy, Momberg & Associates, Olsen’s Piggly Wiggly, and Out & Out Catering.
Bella Lei Salon Spa and Boutique is offering a special discount coupon for 1920’s hairdos to Gala-goers plus 20% off any spa service through February 2013.
In conjunction with the gala, the Center is pleased to present “Paint Your Art Out,” a live art event featuring eight Wisconsin artists. The public is invited to view the artists at work at no charge as they begin at 10am and continue through 5pm on Saturday, February 9. The artwork will be completed during the Gala, and guests will have the first opportunity to purchase finished pieces. Proceeds from artwork sales will be used to support art education and exhibit programming at the Center.
