Rene Izquierdo & Elina Chekan

 

Revered for "his virtuoso technique [that] allows him absolute command of the instrument” (Classical Guitar Magazine) Rene Izquierdo is internationally regarded as one of the most gifted classical guitarists today. A native of Cuba, he has won numerous competitions throughout the world including the JoAnn Falletta International Guitar Competition in 2004, the Extremadura International Guitar Competition, and Stotsenberg International Guitar Competition among others. Joining Rene for this performance is Belarus native and award-winning classical guitarist Elina Chekan. Combining active performance and teaching careers, she has appeared as a soloist throughout the United States and abroad.
