 Perhaps you enjoy a visual arts experience. Join in on our fine art workshops led by past or present Pfister Artists-in-Residence and MIAD. From painting to drawing to touring the hotels collection of Victorian art, it’s a great opportunity to make your own masterwork or just get an inside look at how it’s done.

February 2 – Step-By-Step Painting
Speaker: Shelby Keefe, 2011-2012 Artist-in-Residence

Watch a painting come to life from start to finish. Shelby will demonstrate and explain her painting process from white canvas to colorful acrylic underpainting, to drawing, to a completed painting in oils. Whether you aspire to paint or just want to see how it’s done, this is the experience for you.

February 9 – Portrait Painting
Speaker: Katie Musolff, 2010-2011 Artist-in-Residence

Ever wonder how an artist can somehow breathe life into a portrait? Katie Musolff will not only explain the process she uses to make the canvas really come alive with the subject’s personality, but she’ll also demonstrate by painting a portrait as you watch.

February 16 – Love in The Pfister
Speaker: Timothy Westbook, current Artist-in-Residence

Bring your sweetie to the Pfister for a special Valentines Day tour of our Victorian era art collection. Your docent for the day, artist Timothy Westbrook, will be highlighting the stories of love in the collection and examining the symbols and storytelling in fine art.

February 23 – Everyday Inspiration
