Martin Luther King Jr.'s Vision of the Beloved Community

 

Are we there yet?  Where is there?  What is the beloved community? In this session, we will explore what the beloved community is, and explore language and definitions.  We will talk about the obstacles and challenges, as well as opportunities, for being a beloved community.

Presenter Andrea Sawyer-Kirksey is the Executive Director at Discovering Opportunity for Outreach and Reflection (DOOR), Chicago.  In the past she served at DOOR as Chicago City Director.  Andrea brings her experience as an educator, justice advocate, and program development professional.
