Kohl's Art Generation Open Studio: Community Portrait

 

Throughout the month of January, the Milwaukee Art Museum is inviting families who visit the Kohl’s Art Generation Studio to make self-portraits that will become part of a giant portrait of Milwaukee. Families will take inspiration from the dynamic and diverse photographs on view in the Museum’s exhibition Portrait of Milwaukee as they create portraits of themselves achieving their dreams. Completed portraits will be added to a mural inside the Studio that will continue to grow all month long.

This month, the Museum is also teaming up with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee to create a corresponding mural. Museum educators will work on- and off-site with Boys & Girls Clubs members to create and compile their aspirational self-portraits to hang at one of the Boys & Girls Clubs facilities.
