Dangerous Folk to present their salute to classic 50s-60’s folk music,
"Blowing in the Wind".
"Blowing in the Wind" is a sing-along concert of those favorite songs that we all remember from Peter, Paul, and Mary, the Kingston Trio, Pete Seeger, Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, John Denver and more. David HB Drake, Julie Thompson and Cap Lee lead those good old songs we grew up on in the days of “Make Love not War” that resonate in today’s world.
Dangerous Folk has opened for the Kingston Trio and has performed at festivals, rallies, arts councils, and fine arts centers in Wisconsin, Michigan and Illinois.
David HB Drake was named the Wisconsin Area Music Industry’s 2002 Folk Music Artist of the Year and 2001 Family Music Artist of the Year. He was honored as the 2003 “Lantern Bearer” Recipient By The Folk Alliance Region Midwest organization for his 25 years of work keeping folk music alive
Cap Lee is an educator and musician and educator setting up new schools as far away as Columbia. He heads “Whole Child Reform” Inc. and consults on educational issues and school design. He is a walking encyclopedia of folk music trivia and collects vintage instruments.
Julie Thompson is a recent arrival from Maine, where she performed with Julie & Brownie for over ten years for children’s audiences and co authored the book “A Pirate’s Life for Me”. She is also an actress, photographer, and voice-over performer.
David, Cap, And Julie are featured on “No Child Left Behind?” CD which received national attention since 2004 released by Organic Arts Ltd. of Milwaukee WI
