According to Michelle Jerabek, Copper Box is “like a Texas tornado that swept through New Orleans and is tearing up the Midwest!” The Oshkosh-based band she shares with her husband, Danny Jerabek and Kevin Junemann and Jason Van Ryzin is definitely more than a polka band. According to the Shepherd Express in April 2011, they play “accordion-fueled roots rock…incorporating zydeco, cumbia and other styles associated with the cheery, reedy wheeze of button boxes.”

In June 2011 Relix Magazine praised: “Fronted by Danny and Michelle Jerabek, Copper Box is a genre-bending celebration of fusion roots rock that channels the rowdy communal feel of a small-town party with their gutsy, Americana sound of artists like the legendary Esteban Jordan (the Jimi Hendrix of the accordion), Doug Sahm, Clifton Chenier, Los Lobos and CCR-a must see!”

Copper Box has been honored with a WAMI (Wisconsin Area Music Industry) award for Americana/ Roots Band of the Year in both 2010 and 2012. After releasing their latest CD, “People Change” in July 2011, the band celebrated 10 years of making music in January 2012.

Copper Box performs throughout Wisconsin, the Midwest and beyond, and has been the opening act at the Oshkosh Waterfest summer concert series finale for the Doobie Brothers in 2011 and REO Speedwagon in 2012.
