Contemporary Prints

 

In conjunction with the SGCI Conference and PrintMKE 2013, gallery artists Derrick Buisch, Mary Jones, Mark Mulhern, Dennis Nechvatal, T.L. Solien, Fred Stonehouse, Tom Uttech, and John Wilde exhibit monotypes, etchings, mixed media and limited edition prints. Better known for their paintings, this exhibition demonstrates their expertise in various print methods.

Mary Jones’ Street Seen, a large scale window installation, is a print that can be seen from the street, and through which the street can be seen. Printed on vinyl window cling material, the piece is a combination of perceived and imagined realities of the street life in cities that invite walking. Specifically, there are bits of Chicago, Champaign-Urbana, St. Louis, Des Moines, and Milwaukee.
