Join us for a fun evening of block printing at Cloud 9 workshop. Get your creative juices flowing and learn the oldest form of textile printing. During this workshop you will learn how to gather inspiration, create beautiful patterns, and to hand block print your own unique table runner.
Based on your style, we will arrange wooden blocks to print patterns on a white table runner. There will be no fixed design to recreate.
Hand block printing is the oldest form of textile printing from India. Local artisans in India carve patterns onto blocks of wood by hand using simple tools. These wooden blocks are then used as stamps to print designs on natural fiber fabric such as cotton, linen or silk. You can use this printing technique to print and bring new life to old clothing, paper to create wall art or fun stationery, to create decor that is your own style and so much more. Using traditional printing practices, you can create unique pieces that will add your individual style to any corner of your home. Adding hand printed decor to your home can create depth and richness to your living space, and you’ll have a story to tell of how each piece came to life. Bring a friend along and make this a fun evening for you both!
No prior printing experience is necessary, and we welcome all 🙂 There is only space for 12 individuals.
