    Behind the Scenes Weekend

    You'll love this spring event when you can go behind the scenes and visit the Train Shop (among a host of other areas) and learn how the Zoo's charming steam engines and robust diesel engines are maintained. 

    Meanwhile, in the central part of the Zoo, you can discover where warm-weather animals such as zebra, kudu and waterbuck reside during the winter, a place called Winter Quarters.

    Many other areas of the Zoo will be open and welcoming visitors for tours including: Lake Wisconsin in the Aquatic and Reptile Center, Elk Barn and the kitchen in the Stearns Family Apes of Africa building.
